The 2013 Monroe Christmas Bird Count will take place on Saturday December 21. This morning I scouted the Lake Erie shore at Erie Rd., one of sites that will be surveyed for the count. Didn't see a whole lot but as the Lake freezes in the next couple of weeks the birds should be drawn to the open water at this location.
